Monday, August 11 - Bryan Elementary will be hosting our traditional open house from 5:00-6:30 pm. Students and families are invited to come meet our staff and drop off school supplies.
The elementary doors will open at 7:40 am. (This is the same as last year.) No students will be permitted into the building prior to the start time of 7:40 am. Please note, there is no adult supervision prior to 7:40 am so students need to REMAIN IN THEIR CARS. All students entering the building at 7:40 am will report directly to their homeroom EXCEPT anyone eating breakfast, those students will head to the cafeteria. Bryan Elementary staff will be staggered throughout the building each morning to assist students to their classrooms.
Parent Drop Off – Any student being dropped off in a vehicle must follow the one-way route (noted on the attached map) when dropping off students. Students being dropped off/walking may enter at the closest entrance to where they are dropped excluding east entrance. Students MUST get out of the car door closest to the curb for safety reasons. Students MUST stay in the vehicle until 7:40 am.
Parents will not be able to enter the elementary using Center Street. Please follow the map provided for dropping off students in the morning. All parents dropping off should enter via County Road 13 and follow the traffic pattern as shown on the map.
Please remember that the first few days of school traffic will be heavy and give yourself plenty of time. Students dropped off after 8:00 am MUST be signed in at the office. If a student arrives after 8:00 am without a parent to sign them in, our office staff will call individuals on the emergency contact list to come back to the building to sign students in.
Please pay attention to the grade level signs posted out in front of the elementary school as to where your child will be waiting. Be sure to enter the pick up line off of County Road 13, not from Center Street, as you will not be able to enter the pick up line from that direction. However, be aware the Center Street entrance will be open for cars traveling to the 6-12 building.
All PM Preschool and CUB parents will park in the west parking lot near tennis courts and walk to the west door where students and teachers will be located. Parents will wait on the west sidewalk for student dismissal. (On a nice day the students may be outside waiting for their parent with their teacher.) Note: AM Preschool students are dismissed at the main front entrance doors.
All KG students will be picked up directly outside of the KG doors in the grassy area. KG rooms are located near the west door. Parents will need to park in the west lot and walk up to the KG doors. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ALONG CURB as you will hold up the moving line.
**Pre-school and Cub/Kindergarten students who need to meet up with an older sibling - the older children WILL COME TO THE YOUNGEST CHILD in order to all be picked up in one location. Please make sure to notify your older children’s teacher if this applies to you.**

Bryan City Schools has officially transitioned to ParentSquare as our primary platform for all school-to-home communication. ParentSquare will replace all communication tools currently being used, and will be the single place for all school communication this school year. This includes school delays and cancellations, classroom communication, athletic updates, special events, classroom sign ups and more.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their information that is currently in PowerSchool. We encourage parents to download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm
Communicate in your preferred language
Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
Sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more.
All current parent/guardian contacts have received a ParentSquare invitation via email. Please review the information to set up your account.
Note that Bryan City Schools has eliminated Facebook Messenger as a district communication tool as of June 30, 2025. Please use the messaging feature of ParentSquare as a replacement.

Regular Student Attendance is a significant parent responsibility. Many studies correlate regular attendance with success in school. If a student will be absent, the parents must notify the school office by 8:30 am and provide an explanation. Your child’s education is important to us, so please make sure your child attends school regularly and is not tardy.
Breakfast and hot lunches will be served daily beginning on Wednesday, August 13th and will again be free to all students. Money can be added to your child’s account in case they wish to purchase extra milk or will need milk on days when they pack. Money can be added to lunch accounts through the parent portal or by sending money in with your child.
To assist with the process of bringing a check to school for your child’s lunch account, we ask that you send it in an envelope with your child’s first and last name, the amount enclosed and their Student ID# clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Please help your child memorize their Student ID# as soon as possible as it will help them during the breakfast/lunch process.
Throughout the course of the school year, your child may benefit from meeting with a school guidance counselor. Our staff is willing to help children and families work through any situation that may arise. Group counseling, individual counseling, and peer groups are just some of the ways our counselors are available to help. Please feel free to contact Rachael Schroeder (PK-2) or Sara Huard (3rd-5th) for any concerns or needs you may have.
BCS will continue to have School Resource Officers in all buildings. The SROs assist the school administration in maintaining a safe and secure environment. Students and staff benefit from the SRO's training, knowledge, and experience in handling situations. The SROs provide a highly visible presence throughout the school day and at BCS events throughout the year.
