In the recent weeks Zero the Hero stormed through the Kindergarten classrooms to celebrate the 100th day of school! That day, as with many others, is filled with energy and celebrations that are unmatched!
As we reflect on those moments and hit pause, it serves as a really good reminder of how fortunate we are within our BCS community ~ there are so many reasons to be proud of the work that is done, and so many reasons to be proud of the success that happens by the students and staff each and every day.
Those moments of reflection are what guide us to prepare for future successes........upcoming state tests, the spring musical, grandparents day, concerts, spring sports, CEO Day, and eventually award ceremonies and graduation, to name a few.
As we look to the future, the future is very bright and filled with a wealth of opportunity for our students to succeed. If we keep our sights set on the end goal, it makes these cold days of winter ~ where we grind out the work and prepare to perform ~ all worth it.
With that, our Bryan Built grit is continuing to work on a wealth of initiatives and projects that will help to enhance and grow our programming.
The spring months ahead will be filled with updates and actions on projects such as the new Career Tech Center, new JH Gym, and new Weight Room additions, along with movement on the Arts and Education auditorium project. Beyond that, plans for the 2025-2026 school year are well underway.
As these day to day preparations continue we will have a wealth of updates and information in the near future. For now, let's keep doing our part in taking care of business each and every day and setting ourselves up for success in all that we do!
As always, THANK YOU and GO BEARS!

The Golden Bear Sports Network, our student broadcasting program, was recently highlighted with a feature article by Jonathan LeBlanc in The Bryan Times.
The article highlighted the history of the broadcast program, which started in 2001 as Bryan Municipal Utilities aired games on their local cable channel. In 2011, the Golden Bear Sports Network was formed as games began streaming on YouTube, in addition to BMU and WQCT radio. In 2023, the program was brought in-house at Bryan City Schools.
Bryan students now operate cameras, run robotic PTZ cameras, and even serve as directors and commentators. During the BSN Holiday Classic in 2024, for the first time ever, students filled all production roles for a broadcast.
Golden Bear Sports Network broadcasts air on our YouTube Channel, available at youtube.com/BryanSports. GBSN live footage is also shown on the video boards at Bryan High School and Golden Bear Stadium during games, providing another platform for students’ work to reach the public.
In addition to sports coverage, the same student crews also film and stream theatre performances and music concerts on the high school’s YouTube channel, Golden Bear TV, available at youtube.com/@GoldenBearTV.
So far this season, students have helped to stream more than 30 sporting events – football, soccer, volleyball, basketball and swimming – along with a number of music concerts and other district events.
There are currently 17 students in the program – 10 BMS students, 5 BHS students, and 2 Four County Career Center students. Students meet as a group once per week during their Academic Assist period, but the bulk of their training is hands-on doing the games.
Students are paid for working the games, with all the funds coming from local sponsorships and none from school funds.
The article quoted a number of students who participate in the GBSN program, along with BMS principal Brian Arnold and GBSN executive producer Chris Malanga.
“I’m incredibly grateful to BCS for supporting this program and our vision, allowing us to create something truly special — not only by giving students a unique learning experience but also by providing quality coverage of Bryan Athletics for both our local community and those outside the area who want to stay connected,” Malanga said.
