District Honor Band

A chance for students to audition for an honors group that will rehearse for two days in February and put on a concert.

All rehearsals and the performance will take place at the GSU Armstrong Campus

Any 7th or 8th grade band student can audition for District Honor Band and All-State Band.

Auditions will be held at Ebenezer Middle School on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Parent requirements for Auditions:
-Pay audition fee ($8 for District, $25 for All State)
-Ensure student has a ride to and from Ebenezer Middle on Dec. 2
-Make sure student is available to participate in event February 1-3, 2024
-Make sure you can attend the concert on February 3, as there will be no transportation back to the school afterwards.
-If a student makes it to second round, their guardians are responsible to take them to and from the auditions in McDonough, and also to and from the event itself February 29-March 2, 2024, in Athens.

Student requirements for Auditions:
-Must be in 7th or 8th grade band
-Must be in good academic standing in order to leave for the event
-Must sign-up and come to at least 4 tutoring sessions, Mondays after school, 3:15-4:30 (sign up will be in the Band Room)
-Is committed to practicing and learning the materials.
