Step 2: Review
Recall these events in the chapter and respond to the following questions.
The animals overthrow Mr. Jones.
>> Who do you think Mr. Jones represents (historically), from what you know about the Russian revolution?
We are told that the pigs are more intelligent than anyone else.
>> Discuss why the uneducated are often at a disadvantage in society. Who holds power?
Karl Marx said that "religion is the opiate of the masses" (opiate = drug).
>> So, knowing this, why do the pigs not like the stories told by the raven Moses?
We get to know Boxer and Clover; they are unintelligent but trusting and hard-working.
>> Why does this not bode well for them? Should we blindly trust those in authority?
