Pottery was one of the most important inventions of Ancient India. It has greatly impacted the current and Ancient Indian society. Pottery was mainly used for finding artifacts about the ancient and past world. These artifacts could then be used to learn about the old world. Pottery was first found around the Indus River Valley civilization. This river valley civilization is located in northwestern India. Pottery is formed by clay being molded or sculpted into a type of bowl or shape, but can even be made into a photo. If you mix clay and other dirt-like objects, you can create different kinds of pottery. There are two different ways you can make pottery, including handmade and wheel-made. Pottery was first developed around 2600 to 1900 BCE, and it was first seen in the Indus Valley Civilization.
Ancient Indian civilizations mainly used pottery for making bowls, cups, and plates for their daily lives. Pottery can show how long food and water can be stored without it perishing. If storing your food or water, this helps keep bugs and bacteria away from the food. Preventing bacteria helps avoid contracting illnesses. Pottery also helped Classical Indians store weapons and any other dangerous objects that they may have had. This made it easier for them to not displace their items and stay organized. The last reason pottery is a very helpful thing is it created artifacts. Artifacts have helped the current and ancient world by allowing them to see all the events and things that happened in the past. Pottery also helps archeologists discover all of the tools and things that ancient civilizations used. This process is very astonishing because it shows how long pottery can withstand the environment, especially since pottery dates back to over 4000 years ago. Pottery has greatly impacted the modern world and the ancient world. It helped the Classical Indians very much as well as neighboring civilizations during this time period.
