The number and decimal system used and created in India has impacted the modern and ancient world in many ways. Indian mathematics has also aided in the study of astronomy. Ancient Indian mathematics also impacted Classical Indian poetry by creating cadence, which is a device used for poetic rhythm.
The picture above is an example of how the Classical Indians wrote their new numeral system. The Classical Indians wrote numbers this way because of the Indian mathematician Aryabhata. Aryabhata is the person that came up with idea for the number system. The Classical Indian number system later becomes the basis for the Hindu-Arabic numeral system, which is the most used today.
The picture above is Ancient Indian Brahmagupta, who is credited with being the earliest person to discover zero. Brahmagupta was also given credit as being the first person to use the number system and zero. Before Brahmagupta, it was called the Kharosthi numeral system. He then developed zero during the 7th century.

The numeral system has impacted our world by providing a basis for the decimal system that they created, and became the basis for the one we use today. These systems have also impacted the world because they have provided a system to have an accurate representation of bigger numbers with only ten symbols. In today's world, the decimal system and numeral system are basically connected. The decimal system also impacted the world through having an efficient way to represent numbers. These numbers facilitated trade, helped scientific advancements, and were used for keeping records across many different cultures. There are also other mathematical advancements Ancient India has discovered and developed, but the most important are the decimal system, numeral system, and zero.
