What is the trebuchet?
The trebuchet is a man-made invention made for launching things yards away. An example of how the trebuchet was used, in the Mongol Empire was used the trebuchet to throw dead bodies over their cities' walls, during the Black Death. This invention was not only used for wars, it is now used to teach lessons on many different things in physics like force, fulcrums, velocity, gravity, and parabolic arcs.
When was the trebuchet developed and invented?
The trebuchet was first invented by the Chinese between the 5th and 3rd centuries BCE. Although the Chinese invented the trebuchet, the invention has gone through many countries getting developed. The trebuchet was developed by Islam, Byzantium, and Western Europe. The development of the invention created allies and enemies between these countries.

STEP BY STEP
The first step to launching a trebuchet is lifting the counterweight.
Secondly, the trebuchet is cocked at an angle. Thirdly, the lever is pulled and the counterweight proceeds to fall.
Thirdly, the lever is pulled and the counterweight proceeds to fall.
The trebuchet then undergoes a swinging motion, then proceeds to be released at a suitable position along its trajectory (What Is the Physics Behind a Counterweight Trebuchet?).
A Closer Look of Launching a Trebuchet...
This video shows a clear step-by-step of what has to happen to launch a trebuchet. The video starts off with a little bit of background about the trebuchet, then it goes on to close-ups of what it takes to launch a trebuchet. The people proceed to launch the invention and the video shows how far it launches. The boulder ends up crushing an example wall made of wooding pillars. This shows how powerful and mighty the trebuchet really was.

The Bond of the Trebuchet
People claim that the invention and development of the trebuchet was a collective achievement. Chevveden calls it, “one of the greatest products of multiculturalism in the field of technology”, as stated by (Brown University). The Islamic culture during this time was culture flourished in all its aspects, from religious institutions to legal and scientific endeavors (Princeton University). The invention of the trebuchet created collaborative relationships between these countries, which also made peace with these countries.
