Throughout my research I found that there are many beneficial impacts to getting community members Narcan certified. It is beneficial especially in rural communities because response time for emergency medical serivces ranges from 14 to 26 minutes, if community members were to be certified then they could respond in the moment and potentially save the persons life. Another thing that I found was that Narcan is not only prescribed to drug users but also for individuals who are prescribed opioids for pain management. The final reason is because that is awareness plays a key role in reducing the stigma around the topic of addiciton. If addiciton is talked about more then more people will come forward and ask for help.
