Observation Journals:

• Test  1

  • Arabidopsis was just planted so there was no observation. 

• Test 2

  • There was lots of new growth in the mutant experiment and control

  • The wild type plants haven't broken the surface yet.

• Test 3

  • The first sprouts started showing in the wild type plants. 

• Test 4

  • Mutant plants start growing the long stalk .

  • Wild type plants have no stalk.

• Test 5

  • Wild type plants still look very small with not much growth. 

  • The mutant plants continue to grow while also obtaining a purple color to the leaves.

• Test 6

  • Wild type plants finally grow their tall stalks. 

  • The mutant control looks more purple. 

  • Both the mutant and wild type leaves have started to die.

• Test 7

  • Reddish color continues to spread up the Mutant Experimental bolts.

• Test 8

  • All plants are dead or nearly dead at this point.

  • The reddish-purple color on the mutant has spread throughout the entire bolt of the mutant experimental plant.

  • Mutant Control rosettes have turned yellow, although their bolts remained green.

  • Wild-type plants have acquired a slight red color.

• Test 9

  • All plants are dead. The experiment is finished.
