Arabidopsis thaliana Life Cycle
Observation Journals-
9/18/2025- This was the first day we applied the variable, Potassium Chloride, to the plants. We also observed the first bolts from the mutant plants. The wild types had yet to fully sprout.
9/25/2025- The wild types have bolted. The mutant types are getting taller but some leaves show yellowing. We applied the variable on this day.
9/29/2025- There are some in the wild type group that have not grown as much as desired. The mutant types continue to grow.
10/3/2025- On this day, we noticed how prominent the yellowing and drooping of the mutant types. The wild types, while not as tall, retained a healthier green color.
10/7/2025- The mutant types, control and experimental, are dried out. We believe they died at this point. The wild types continue growing.
10/9/2025- The difference between the mutant and wild types is most prominent here. The mutant Arabidopsis ended up dying, looking generally unhealthy, and being thin. The wild Arabidopsis did not grow as quickly or as much as the mutant group but it was much healthier and stayed green. We applied the variable on this day.
