Inform yourself & spread the news: Mental health awareness starts at the individual. Research on how to support someone with mental adversities (see helpful web sources above) and look at mental illness forums. Post information regarding adolescent and adult mental health on social media, and tell your friends, family, and coworkers!
Additional help: If possible, financially supporting hotlines and warmlines at the state or local level is very helpful. In most cases, the national financial compensation towards these sources are only sufficient enough to keep them operating, and does not promote growth for the lines. Another form of support without the cost is volunteering at your local hotline center.
