Did you know the average Norse male in Viking times was approximately 176 cm (5 ft 9¼ in) tall? In this project we are going through the history of the Vikings such as timeline, general information, innovations, and impacts they had on the world. The Vikings originated from Scandinavia which now is modern day Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. According to History.net the vikings went as far as the Newland's, and went East down to Constantinople for their trade routes. (“The Vikings – Location”). from 800 CE to 1100 CE was when the vikings reigned (National Museum of Denmark). This website will go into details on the different topics.
Timeline
The Viking's development of Metallurgy had a significant impact on Norse culture as it was used to make items for religious and ritual use. Metallurgy was also used to make important items that contributed to the safety and development of the Viking civilization and trade networks.

the development of Viking runes developed around 400 BE. they started from a 24 letter alphabet to a 16 letter one. the grammar rules used accumulated from many different languages. written language ment so much to these people that if it was written down it was taken seriously.

Weapons played a crucial role in Viking culture. From raiding villages to exploring the icy Atlantic ocean, weapons helped the Vikings in these adventures. Weapons also made Vikings one of the most powerful civilizations in Northern Europe from late 8th century to 11th century.

Longships were very important to the Vikings. These ships and their special designs allowed the Vikings to have vast trading empires, but also allowed them to raid cities, villages, and monasteries at a moments notice, and leave just as fast.

The development of literature had a significant impact on Vikings. Literature significantly impacted their cultural identity by helping them remember it through texts and helped them record and understand language.

The Viking democratic government had a big impact on the Vikings and in other countries in Europe. The government kept their people from battling to the death over arguments helping them solve problems and be able to vote on what their group should do such as make peace go to war or even go on raids together.
