Why was math needed?
The innovation of mathematics was needed by ancient India because of the things they did like astronomy, architecture, construction and measurement. Mathematics was needed in astronomy for tracking celestial movements to create calendars and to tell time. Architecture and construction needed math because to build structures with precise geometry required knowledge of geometry like how to find right angles and areas. Mathematics was also used for daily life like how standardized weights helped with trade.
Mathematics was made by thousands of people over time creating many changes to it. The start of Mathematics was formed by curiosity and the need to solve practical problems. For example, the concept of zero was made by the need to represent nothingness. People created the basis of math through observation, experimentation, and logical reasoning.
Advancements India made in math
Aryabhata was the first of the major mathematician-astronomers who introduced the thought of using zero as a number instead of a placeholder and "created the concept of zero". Indian mathematician Brahmagupta extended his work with zero by establishing rules for it and formalizing it as a number. Brahmagupta said a number added to or subtracted from zero does not change the number. He also said that any number multiplied by zero equals zero and that zero divided by any number is zero
The Hindu-Arabic number system aka the decimal system is a (base-ten) system using the ten symbols 0-9 to represent numbers. Mathematicians from India helped create it by making the Brahmi numerals. The Brahmi numerals are a precursor to the hindu arabic number system.
Mathematics had a huge impact on ancient India by driving advancements in various fields. It helped in developing accurate astronomical models and calendars, which were crucial for agriculture and religious events. Indian mathematicians also made the concept of zero the modern decimal system and many other advancements in trigonometry and geometry.
Mathematics had a lot of impacts on every civilization mathematics is the universal language it had impacts everywhere in almost every civilization. Some of the impacts include advancements in agriculture architecture, astronomy and daily life. The advancements in mathematics made by Indian mathematicians were passed along through trade routes.
Historical importance
Mathematics lets people understand the functions of life and nature as well as let people build strong standing temples and nowadays skyscrapers. Mathematics will never go extinct. People will always use mathematics as it's been used for thousands of years before. Math laid a strong foundation of critical thinking and other important skills for the human race.
