De Globetrotter in the multicultural Afrikaanderwijk is one of the pioneer schools of the At Home in Language methodology and is currently participating in a second part of Martine van der Pluijm's research, which involves working with parents on children's language stimulation through home visits.

Visit to the "Huis van de Wijk" next to Globetrotter School where local residents can go for all kinds of activities organised primarily by themselves. Besides a theatre hall, a cafeteria, a large kitchen and a boxing room, the library also has its branch there. An approachable and friendly initiative with a diverse audience.

A full afternoon with three workshops: the Dutch implementation by 1801 of the Planting Languages-methodology, the programme "For you and your child" by the Reading & Writing Foundation and the methodology "Playing Together" with language activities for parents and young children.

Visit to the children's section of the library where we got more information about Boekstart, a national programme to introduce babies and their parents to books as early as possible. 
The day ended with a spectular boattrip in the Rotterdammer' port.

Visit to Het Epos, a brand new primary school in the Zuidwijk district, whose ambition is to become one of the best schools in Rotterdam through innovative education. Constant cooperation with parents also plays an important role in this.

After the Luxembourg delegation left, the Brussels delegation had a last exchange with Martine van der Pluijm on the state of play of Thuis in Taal and Welkom in de Klas, the content of good parent-child activities and future plans around home support and cooperation with the library.
