Brush High School Work Based Learning Students and the Health Sciences Tech Students attended a Career Exploration day hosted by Banner Health Hospital in Brush. The students were introduced to a variety of career opportunities in the health and medical field. Students were able to meet and discuss the different career opportunities that Banner Health has to offer.
The students toured the following departments and met with employees in the areas of Patient Services, Medical Surgical RN, Outpatient Services, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Emergency Room Department, Operating Room Surgical Tech, Women Infant Services, Radiology Imaging and Physical Therapy Rehabilitation.
Students were able to participate in some hands-on activities in the Pharmacy, Surgical Tech and Physical Therapy Rehabilitation departments.
It was a great event and opportunity for students to see career opportunities that are available in their hometown of Brush.
Our Work Based Learning program took a group of Brush High School students to the CTE Opportunities Fair “Pathways to your Future” in Windsor Colorado on Thursday 9/29/22. There were over 36 exhibitors from Business, Government Agencies, and Community Colleges. Students were able to visit with them, ask questions and gain more information on what job skills were needed for the various jobs and careers. Some students participated in mock interviews with various businesses. Overall the students gained valuable knowledge that will help them in the future.
Beetdigger Catering
In Construction Technology II, students will gain advanced knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce as carpenters, building maintenance technicians or supervisors, or to prepare for a postsecondary degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering. Students will build on the knowledge base from Construction Technology I and are introduced to exterior and interior finish out skills.
This course is an entrepreneurial operation in a school setting that provides goods/services to meet the needs of a market. Students will learn hands-on retail procedures including customer service, advertising, sales, merchandising and math.
