An introductory course for first year agriculture education students. This course introduces students to the foundational principles of agriculture, food and natural resources. Students will gain knowledge in career development, leadership, personal development, communications, animal science, plant science, natural resources, food science, power/structure and agribusiness.
In this course, students (shall/will/may) learn the basics of storytelling (who, what, when, where why), video composition, filming terms, on-camera presentation, and video editing as well as other skills that are used in the broadcasting careers.
In this course, students will study emergency medical skills and procedures, including basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, HIPPA, and prevention of disease transmission. Additionally, they will learn the basics of firefighting and EMS.
In this course, students will explore and practice Foods and Nutrition. Students will acquire knowledge and essential skills necessary for success in career pathways.
In this course, students will be introduced to the exciting, dynamic world of the health sciences, an industry that is reapidly changing and high in demand for workers who can think critically to solve a range of health related problems. Students will explore healthcare systems, legal and ethical issues in healthcare and basic healthcare skills.
In this course, students (shall/will/may) focus on basics in woodworking, plumbing, electricity, welding & other mechanical areas related to common agriculture skills and for students who need development in basic mechanical skills. Emphasis will be placed on shop safety, tool ID, measuring, proper tool usage, care & maintenance. Project planning, design & technical drawing are included.
Students will be introduced to Adobe products, coding, and video technology.
Students will explore a wide range of materials, ideas, and approaches in Art Exploration. Students will broaden their understanding and gain experience with various forms of the visual arts, mediums, and techniques used to create two and three-dimensional works of art such as drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, and more.
