Grading

A variety of methods will be used to grade class assignments, tests, and projects. Please keep in mind that not every piece of work will have a grade. Some papers will have the number of missed problems at the top. Some work is for practice and may only be spot checked for understanding of major concepts. Some work is self-corrected. Here are other ways items may be graded:


1. 3-point rubric to correspond with report cards

3 - secure and meets grade level expectations

2 - developing towards grade level expectations

1 - beginning to progress toward grade level expectations


2. Teacher-created rubrics based off the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)


3. Percentages/Fraction Grade

4. Symbols:

Plus: Consistently applies

Check: Frequently Applies

Minus: Rarely Applies


5. Star, Sticker or Stamp means checked for completion only
