When their schools fail to provide effective environmental curriculum, students in Providence, Rhode Island find their own ways of educating themselves on climate issues and community activism.
Brown University is in the process of reviewing a potential sustainability certificate that would encourage students in any concentration to apply sustainability and environmental principles to their area of focus.
After a failed Climate Literacy Act in 2020, the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association has launched a new initiative consisting of two bills responding to a growing demand for climate literacy.
