As a whole school we have been working collectively towards Earth Day through our rights education, curriculum learning, and learning about our responsibility to the planet. For Squirrels' class this all started in January during home schooling where parents taught their children about reducing, reusing and recycling items at home in order to have an impact on climate change (as part of our Antarctica topic).
In school we have been learning to look after planet earth by reducing, reusing and recycling in the classroom too. Please enjoy the clip we have made to show how we are playing our part in the fight against climate change.
Here is all the class encouraging us to 'Reduce, reuse, recycle'.
We spoke about what Earth Day means to us.
The children had lots of ideas about protecting their world - picking up litter, reusing, reducing and recycling.
We listened to Jack Johnson's song - '3 Is The Magic Number'.
We also played a game where the wildlife slowly returned to the countryside once the litter had been collected.
The children made a poster.
