Canvas is Brophy's "Learning Management System." In layman's terms, it is the resource for all class content. Each class a student takes will be on Canvas and should include information about daily activities, what students are working on, and what is due.
In addition to students' classes, Canvas also hosts Brophy's Digital Academic Resources.
Each student is enrolled in a Technology Training course that they start using during their freshmen orientation. Students have access to this course for all four years. Content includes basics on computer operation, troubleshooting and warranty information, standard class workflows, digital citizenship, and additional resources available to students.
Note that official grades are located in the separate myBrophy system. See below.
myBrophy is our our "Student Information System." myBrophy is where students and parents can find grades, attendance, school calendars, campus resources, and school news.
Parents and students created individual myBrophy accounts during registrations. Contact Brophy's Registrar Ms. Shawna Khan for login assistance.
Brophy utilizes Google's "G Suite" platform for email, collaborative documents, and cloud storage. Students' email accounts and Google Drive folders come with unlimited storage. Click here for more information about these apps.
Every Brophy student receives a Microsoft Office 365 account, which includes access to well known and powerful apps such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote. Click here for more information.
Brophy students have access to an extensive collection of digital academic resources and databases including ProQuest, Gale collections, JSTOR, Encyclopedia Britannica, and more. Students can access these resources through the "Academic Digital Resources" course they are enrolled in through Canvas, our Learning Management System.
All students and faculty have access to Read&Write, software designed to make reading, writing, and processing information on a device easier.
According to the software developer: "The easy-to-use toolbar makes documents, files and web pages more accessible. Read&Write is a big confidence booster for anyone who needs a little support with their reading and writing, at school or in the workplace. And its friendly literacy features can help people with dyslexia or other learning difficulties. From hearing emails or documents read out loud, to text prediction, picture dictionaries, and summary highlighters, Read&Write makes lots of everyday literacy tasks simpler, quicker, and more accurate."
Students can access this software, installation instructions, and usage guides through the "Academic Digital Resources" course they are enrolled in through Canvas, our Learning Management System. Click here to watch instructional Youtube videos.
