In 1st grade, students begin to stretch their thinking and deepen their understanding of numbers, stories, and the world around them. Whether they’re measuring with paperclips, writing personal narratives, or tracking the moon's phases, they are building independence and critical thinking. Students also work on setting goals and practicing how to plan and follow through—one small step at a time.
