As part of being in the Design and Engineering Classroom, you need to be able to sketch or jot down any idea or concept that may come to mind in order to prevent losing a critical thought. In this assignment, I had to make a unique design for my very own Sketchbook to be used in the Design and Engineering classroom using the resources available to me.
Get a 3 good sized pieces of paper (Two Covers and Middle).
Prepare an Algae Dip with the colors of your choice and stir the blend to your liking.
Dip the paper into the pattern you made in the Algae Dip and submerge the paper. Repeat two more times for the other pieces of paper.
Set the paper out to dry.
Get 3 pieces of clipboard (Two Covers and Middle).
Glue the clipboard to the dried and Algae Dipped papers using Rubber Cememt and wait for the Cememt to dry.
Place a piece of Construction Paper to glue to the front and back cover of the book.
Use an X-Acto Knife to cut the excess paper off of the pieces of clipboard. Then, glue down the edges around each of the pieces of clipboard.
Make holes into the front and back cover of the book.
Follow the steps in the video below to bind the book together
Completing this assignment allowed me to express my creative side because even though everyone within the classroom had to create their own Sketchbook, everyone has their own take on things so it creates a interesting and different perspective on how I and other people can view things. I learned that creativity is my best weapon so I have to always be able to have the mindset to make things in my mind come to life
