What is SRBI?

Here at CES our teachers aim to provide our students with the highest quality instruction that is appropriate to each student. Our staff understands that each child has different strengths and needs, our goal is for each child to make progress and find success. One way that we support students is through the implementation of SRBI (Scientific Research-Based Interventions). This is a system of instruction and intervention that is designed to raise the achievement of all students. SRBI are a way to provide support and instruction to children who are struggling to learn. Throughout the school year, all students are given several universal screenings. These assessments help us measure growth as well as identify those students that are in need of additional support. As a team, we take the information from the assessment data and teacher recommendations to determine children’s eligibility for reading support. The amount of time and the intensity of support given depend on each student’s individual learning needs.
