The case study project was awarded a student partner (Layla Saleh, a third-year BA in Marketing Communications Management), who worked closely on case study design, write-up, and visual presentation. Ethical approval (241848) was provided, ensuring agreement to disseminate the case study materials.
All EiRs and ViFs were contacted by email with an invitation to participate, resulting in 11 interviews conducted between December 2024 and February 2025. Five ViFs and six EiRs provided case studies (whereby one ViF provided contacts to two organisations he is affiliated with).
A case study template was used to guide the interview questions, having identified some possible SDG targets relevant to the organisation in advance, based on a website review. This provided a loose structure for discussion. Following the first couple of interviews, a format was decided upon for how the interviews could be visually presented using a consistent structure of:
Why is this SDG important?
What are the challenges?
What has happened so far?
What’s next?
What do you think? (Discussion Questions)
