The Sound on Screen Research Unit at Oxford Brookes are excited to invite you to join us for the fourth Sound on Screen conference; two days online, and the third day in person at Oxford Brookes, see the Sound on Screen schedule here (opens in new window). People are welcome to watch the third in person day online, but you are encouraged to come and join us in person if you are able to. This three-day event will host over 40 papers from domestic and international scholars of all levels, and continues the theme of inclusive, eclectic, and wide-reaching scholarly discussions on all aspects of sound and music in film, television, and video games. Our continued commitment to ensuring conferences are affordable and accessible means we have set the online fee at just £5, with the in-person fee being £20 (which includes refreshments and also includes the online attendance on days 1 and 2).
Please register for the conference here. If you are unable to join us, links and videos will be available through the website after the event. Further information can be requested by contacting soundonscreen2025@outlook.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
The programme committee consists of Dr. Jan Butler (Senior Lecturer in Popular Music), Dr. James Cateridge (Senior Lecturer in Film), Dr. Matt Lawson (Senior Lecturer in Music), and Dr. Lindsay Steenberg (Reader in Film Studies), with administrative support from Kirsten Etheridge and Smriti Singh.
The Conference is organised with the support of the Centre of Research in the Arts (CoRA)
