Santander is providing the opportunity to win one of 50 research awards worth £1,000 each to staff conducting any form of research and postgraduate students at any UK university. The grant can be used to pay for any research-based expenses, for example, equipment, resources, travel and workshop or conference attendance but the choice is yours on how it could be best spent to support your research.

Applications to the rolling fund should be submitted by the second Monday of each month:
Monday 13th May 2024 extended to Monday 20th May!
This month, we are particularly keen to receive applications for policy-related impact activities for which funding could be spent by 31st July 2024.
Monday 10th June 2024
Applications must be submitted using the submission portal here. Please note: Applications can NOT be used for teaching buy out and activities should fit within existing WLP allocations.
Examples could include:
Undertaking impact-focused activities (for a future impact REF study case)
Developing Impact ‘tools’/ outputs (e.g. prototype, film, materials)
Funding for piloting impact activity/ evidence collection tools
Funding for materials needed for impact activities (e.g. to enable evidence collection)
Funding application in collaboration with an external partner to facilitate impact
Funding for collaborative impact events (e.g. stakeholder meeting/ community event)
Special equipment and/or software and/or consumables to deliver impact activity
Impact evidence collection activity
Research activity with direct link to impact development
Travelling and subsistence for impact development (e.g. working with stakeholder groups/ potential ‘beneficiaries’/ attending meetings/ accepting impact relevant invitations)
Funding to attend external impact development events (where Faculty or School funding is not available).
If impact funding is awarded you will be required to upload information about the impact activity undertaken to the University Impact Tracker.

Applications to the rolling fund should be submitted by the second Monday of each month. Applications will be reviewed and decided by the University Impact Champion, Research Impact Manager, and Faculty Impact Champions. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of the submitting month.
