Jenia Shapochka is an addiction psychologist. She is currently undertaking a PhD with the aim co-developing a mid-life women-specific alcohol use screening tool for healthcare professionals, that addresses the demographics’ unique needs.
Jenia's aims
1. To learn the drives, motives and motivation for drinking in mid-life women
2. To understand contextual factors influencing alcohol use in mid-life women.
3. To investigate the unique barriers for mid-life women for changing their alcohol consumption and for seeking professional help.
4. To develop the screening tool for mid-life women
5. To conduct a psychometric validation on the tool.
