Welcome to the Oxford Brookes Alcohol Research Lab (OxBAR-Lab).
We are a group of staff and students at the Centre for Psychological Research conducting research with the aim of reducing alcohol-related harms.
OxBAR-Lab is a simulated bar and café environment located at Oxford Brookes University. It enables researchers to explore alcohol-related decision making, responses to health information, alcohol-free and low-alcohol products, drinking identities, and approaches to behaviour change in a setting that more closely resembles real-world social environments than traditional laboratory or online studies.
By combining innovative research methods with real-world public health challenges, we aim to generate evidence that can inform policy, practice, and future interventions to reduce alcohol-related harm.
