Latest update: Guidance on how to upload marks from Moodle to Banner using Coursework is available.
As part of the wider Banner Optimisation Project, the Assessment Life Cycle Project seeks to improve staff and student experience through the capture and automated transfer of assessment data between Moodle (VLE) and Banner (SRS), reducing the amount of Module Leader time spent doing administrative tasks and improving the data quality by reducing the need for manual entry of data.
Pilot 1 took place in semester two of the academic year 2023/2024, with a small cohort of 12 Module Leaders, testing the process of capturing assessment data in Moodle for written assessments, whilst simulating various interfaces between Banner & Moodle.
The aim of the Assessment Life Cycle Pilot 2, was to build on Pilot 1’s learnings to create and test a technical solution to support the Assessment Life Cycle processes. Pilot 2 increased the scope to include more Module Leaders and a variety of different assessment types to help assess the viability of the rollout across the University. The addition of automated extensions was also included in the scope to further reduce the administrative tasks of Module Leaders and optimise the assessment workflow.
