"Reducing food waste, one dish at a time"
Welcome to the UK and Ireland site
Oxford Brookes University (UK) and Amity University (India) are delighted to have been awarded the Association of Commonwealth Universities 'Higher Education and the SDG Challenge Grants' Fund 2023.
The project includes:
A digital student cooking competition to raise awareness of food waste solutions
A survey across Indian and UK students to explore food waste awareness, behaviours and desirable behaviour change interventions
A live webinar on Earth Day 2024 (22 April) featuring food waste experts from the India and UK, at which the competition winners will be announced

COMPETITION CATEGORIES:
Whole (entire fruit and vegetables) & commonly wasted foods - £100
Rescued and repurposed food - (re-style last night or lunchtime leftovers, get creative with dishes made from using food picked up through food rescue apps or 'yellow sticker cooking' (from the 'reduced' section at the shops) - £100
'Throw-it-all-in cooking' (don't go shopping again - use up what is lurking in the back of your cupboard, freezer and fridge) - £100
HOW TO ENTER?
Video OR photo series (see the next page 'entry criteria' for more information).
WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?
£100 per EACH of the three categories detailed above
WHO CAN ENTER?
Any student from any university in the UK and Ireland
WHEN DOES IT RUN?
Launched December 2023. Closes 25 March 2024 at MIDNIGHT GMT
