DESCRIPTION

How are women's associations involved with the hegemonic paradigm that the audiovisual industry supports and reproduces?


Women making audiovisual content on both sides of the Atlantic speak about audiovisual feminisms and how social networks between women create an alternative for content creation in order to find a new paradigm. Each one of them will offer her experience as a member of a collective, association, cooperative or working group.

SPEAKERS

Michèle Massé

Michèle Massé is an author and director. She produces a variety of projects, both documentary and fiction. Her latest fiction production, 3 LLAMADAS, is a short film about the reality of a trans woman. In her documentary work, she has specialised in portraits of brave and committed women, as in LAS VENTANAS ABIERTAS or EL COMPROMISO.

She has worked in various collective audiovisual production spaces in France and Spain. Since 2015, her production company, DELICIAS FILMS, has been part of the COOPETIC cooperative of activities and entrepreneurs, based in Paris.

She is currently a member of the CREADORAS SALVAJES collective, a space for independent creation within the CIMA Association in Spain.

Marcela Camacho PARDO

Marcela Camacho Pardo, Ambato - Ecuador 1986. She studied Digital Media Film Television and performing Arts as a sub-specialization at the San Francisco de Quito University. In 2009 she began to develop art projects for cinema and theatre. She is an actress, director, producer and cultural manager. She has also worked on production, reporting, editing and coordination of news in national channels such as Ecuavisa and Teleamazonas. She is President of ADEC – Asociación de Documentalistas del Ecuador. She is part of some collectives such as Colectiva Mujeres Acción CAM, Mujeres X la Cultura Ecuador. Among her recent projects are supporting the meeting project for Women Filmmakers FEMMAKERS and promoting her personal project Mujeres Documentalistas Ecuador.

Nina Tedesco

Nina Tedesco is a professor at the Department of Film and Video and at the Graduate Program in Film and Audiovisual at the Federal Fluminense University. She has experience as a screenwriter, director and, mainly, director of photography. Among her main publications are the co-edited books "Corpos em projeção: gênero e sexualidade no cinema latino-americano" ("Bodies in projection: gender and sexuality in Latin American cinema") (2013), "Feminino e plural: mulheres no cinema brasileiro" ("Feminine and plural: women in Brazilian cinema") (2017) and "Cinematografia, Expressão e Pensamento" ("Cinematography, Expression and Thought”) (2019), and the chapter "Palavra forte - no cinema" ("Strong word - in cinema"), in the book "Explosão feminista: arte, cultura, política e universidade" ("Feminist explosion: art, culture, politics and university") (2018), by Heloisa Buarque de Hollanda. She is part of the 2020-2022 coordinating committee of the “Red de investigación del Audiovisual hecho por Mujeres en América Latina (RAMA)” (Research Network on Audiovisual made by Women in Latin America). Analía Fraser

Analía Fraser is a creator of audiovisual contents specialized in film festivals. She promotes independent works that escape hierarchies imposed by the audiovisual industry. She is an experienced jury member and collaborator in film festivals like Docs Barcelona; Malaga Festival; León Film Festival; Y-Frames. She is currently directing and co-producing (together with the Latin American content platform Geluk Cinema), her mini series called "Fachamamma" to premiere at the end of 2021. She is a member of audiovisual women groups on both sides of the Atlantic, in Spain: "Dones Visuals" and "CIMA"; in Argentina: "Audiovisual Women, if we look, the world changes (MUA)”.
