Social Day: Explore Oxford

Our Explore Oxford Social Day is an opportunity for you to experience life as a university student in Oxford. 

This event is at no cost to you and we will provide lunch and a travel bursary. 

It is a sign up only event, and you will not be able to attend unless you have received a confirmation from us.

There are limited spaces available for this event (50 places in total) and it is first come first serve. Please sign up using the form below to give you the best chance at securing a place.

This is an all day event and you will need to select a morning activity, lunch + drink option and afternoon activity. 

We look forward to it as this is always one of the best days of the year!

Meet at Bonn Square (Outside Art Cafe) by 10:30am.

We will be walking from the Art Cafe to the first activity (Ashmolean Museum or Museum of Natural History). The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes and will allow us to do some sightseeing of the city on the way. If you are unable to walk this distance, please let us know as soon as possible and we can make alternative arrangements.

We will be having lunch at Banana Tree and will head from the museums at approx. 12:15 to arrive at Banana Tree for 12:30.

Your sign up form will include options for lunch and will cover all dietary requirements. Please select your lunch choice upon sign up and remember to keep a note of your order (we will do this our end too). 

*Please note some dishes at Banana Tree contain nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs and other ingredients. Please check the website to confirm you can have the dish you select and ensure you complete the dietary requirements question on the sign up form. 

Parking:

We strongly advise you not to come by car unless absolutely necessary, since parking is very restricted in the city. If you wish to come by car, we recommend you use the Park & Ride bus services. The park and ride car parks are clearly signposted as you approach the city and the service is frequent all day.

Train and walk:

Train:

There are direct train services to Oxford from London and many other UK towns and cities. Please only use Oxford railway station in the city center.

Walk:

Bonn square is a 10 minute walk from Oxford railway station.

Coach and Walk:

Coach: 

From London there is a direct coach service,  running every 10-20 minutes during the day, dropping you off at Gloucester Green. Visit Oxford Tube for this service. Coach services from London take approximately 80 - 90 minutes.

Birmingham, Coventry, Leeds and Sheffield all have direct coach links to Gloucester Green coach station. From other UK cities you will need to change. Find more information at National Express.

Walk:

Bonn Square is an 8 minute walk from Gloucester Green coach station.
