Cultivates Community Partnerships
Cultivates partnerships within the school and community (including families and caregivers, nonprofit organizations, local and public libraries, businesses) to promote engagement and a community of readers.
Current Practices & Artifacts
Library Media Director is the school district representative on Brodhead Memorial Public Library Board
School Library and the Public Library work together to promote the summer and winter reading programs
Support and team up with other public library program promotions
Use and promote the use of the public library resources when the school library does not have the resources a patron needs
Library Media Director has taught technology classes in partnership with the Public Library
Promotes and supports local authors
Local Book Fairs and promotes to community
Social Media postings of resources to the community
Help support parent organization with resources/technology/family nights
Local community members invited to read to classrooms during reading programs
Possible Areas for Growth
Cooperative measures with the Public Library and other local businesses have given us a foundation for community partnerships, but more can be done to invite the community into our space and programming
Recent social media posts have served as a better outreach tool to keep the community informed of our programming and resources and we will seek to continue this trend with other initiativesÂ
