Financial Aid
According to Oklahoma law, all high school seniors are required to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as part of their graduation checklist, unless a parent or guardian signs a waiver.
The FAFSA application opens each year in October and uses income information from the prior fiscal year for both students and parents. It’s important to apply as soon as possible after October 1 of your senior year—and every year you’re in college—to maximize your eligibility for financial aid.
Although the federal deadline is June 30, many colleges have earlier priority deadlines, so be sure to check with your school’s financial aid office.
You can access the application at www.studentaid.gov.
Reminder: You should never have to pay to apply for financial aid or scholarships. If a website asks for money, it's not legitimate.
Scholarships
BHS students, please note that many of the links below are applications for the local scholarships. Local scholarships are available to BHS seniors. Local Scholarships will be offered in Google Classroom in the late Fall and early Spring. Be sure to pay attention to deadlines!
Oklahoma’s Promise must be completed between a student’s 8th grade year and the end of their junior year. This program can cover tuition costs at eligible Oklahoma public colleges, universities, and technology centers, giving students a valuable opportunity to pursue higher education without the burden of tuition.
