At Bristow High School, Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Matheney
are here to support and guide our students.
Mrs. Matheney is the counselor for students with last names A through K
Mrs. Butler is the counselor for students with last names L through Z.
Mrs. Butler has dedicated over 25 years to the field of education, bringing a wealth of experience and commitment to her role. Now in her fifth year at Bristow High School, she continues to make a meaningful impact on students and the school community. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University, and a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix.
Outside of school, Mrs. Butler loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, who bring her constant joy and inspiration. She’s especially passionate about helping high school students grow into confident young adults by exploring career paths and discovering their purpose beyond graduation.

Mrs. Matheney has dedicated 22 years to special education and is now in her sixth year serving as a school counselor, beginning her second year at Bristow High School. She earned her Associate’s degree from NEO A&M College, her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, and her Master’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Married to her incredible husband Michael for 29 years, they share two wonderful sons, Jacob and Joshua. Mrs. Matheney is excited to begin her second year at Bristow High School and looks forward to continuing to work with the amazing students and staff!
