Head Track & Field, Sprints, Hurdles, Relays, Strength & Conditioning, Cross Country
Coach Wright is in his 8th year of coaching at Truman, serving as Head Coach for the track & field teams. Upon graduating from the Milton Hershey School in 1999, he continued his track career at Bucknell University. As a collegiate athlete, he ran the sprint and hurdle events, attaining All Patriot League honors. After a stint at Millersville University, he continued to coach for numerous high school programs in the area, including Norristown and Pennsbury. Coach Wright has proven to be successful everywhere his career has taken him as represented by the long list of state, district, and league medalists as well as All-Americans. Although Coach Wright specializes in the sprints and hurdles, he oversees every aspect of the program. He is well known in the area for his ability to get the best out of his athletes and set them up for success. Coach Wright holds USATF Level 1, 2, and 3 coaching certifications and in addition to his coaching career, he is a guidance counselor at Harry S Truman High School.
Head Cross Country, Co-Head Track & Field, Distance, Mid-Distance
Coach P is in his 4th year of coaching, currently heading the cross country program and co-head coach for the track & field teams. He graduated from Truman in 2017, where he also played baseball and football. Continuing his track and cross country careers at Holy Family University, he served as a 3-year captain, being named once to the All East Coast Conference team (1000m) and twice to the All Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference team (800m and 4x400m), before graduating in 2021. Throughout his time on staff, he’s contributed to coaching multiple All Suburban One League athletes in addition to District 1 and PA state medalists. He holds USATF Level 1 and 2 coaching certifications, specializing in endurance events. He currently lives in Levittown and teaches social studies at Harry S Truman High School.
Throws, Strength & Conditioning
Coach Candy graduated from Harry S Truman in 2008. During his senior year, he was named to the All Suburban One League team in the shot put. Throughout his 13 years with Truman, he has served the roles of both head and assistant coach. Coach Candy has successfully trained many athletes into becoming state and district medalist as well as All Suburban One League honors. While he specializes in the throws, he has experience in all areas of track & field. Coach Candy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the weight room to the team.
Jumps, Hurdles
Coach TJ is in his third year of coaching at Truman. He graduated from William Allen in 2019, where he competed for the soccer, football, and track & field teams. During his time, he was a state qualifier in the 4x400m, 110m hurdles, and 300m hurdles. Coach TJ continued on to Holy Family University where he became a six-time individual conference champion, competing in the 60m hurdles, 110m hurdles, and 400m hurdles. He was named to multiple All East Coast Conference and All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honors in the hurdle, jump, and sprint events. Coach TJ also attained NCAA Division II national provisional marks in the 400m hurdles and the triple jump. Along with his individual accomplishments, he contributed to 3 ECC indoor team championships and a CACC outdoor team championship. Coach TJ lives in Philadelphia and currently works in a hospital.
Co-Head Cross Country
Coach Ward is in his first year of coaching. He graduated from Harry S Truman in 2008, where he received All-Suburban One League honors in cross country. He continued his cross country career at Chestnut Hill College, where he received All Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honors as a freshman, served as a two-year captain, and was named team MVP all 4 years he was there. He often participates in local races and has competed in Broad Street multiple times. He lives in Bristol and currently works for a contracting company.
Jumps, Strength & Conditioning
Coach Marshall is entering her first year of coaching. She graduated from George School in 2013, where she captained both the soccer and track & field teams. During her time at George School, she was named All-League in the Friends School League all four years, earned 6 FSL individual championships, and was a Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association state medalist. She went on to compete in the multi events at Muhlenberg College, where she graduated in 2017. At Muhlenberg, she served as team captain and was a two-time Centennial Conference Championship medalist. Coach Marshall has a particular passion for the high jump, but has experience in just about every area in track and field. Coach Marshall currently lives in Levittown and works in veterinary medicine at Princeton University.
Sprints, Relays
Coach Francis is in his 8th year coaching at Truman. Before graduating from Pennsbury in 2013, he contributed to setting a school record in the 4x400m, was a multi-time state qualifier and medalist in both the sprint and relay events, was named to the All Suburban One League team multiple times, and helped Pennsbury win a team Suburban One League championship in 2013. He continued on to compete in track & field at California University of Pennsylvania where he attained All Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference status in both the 60m and the 4x100m events. In his time at Truman, Coach Francis has contributed to coaching multiple state, district, and Suburban One League champions and medalists. Additionally, he has been a major part in multiple wins for the freshman 4x100m at Penn Relays. Coach Francis currently lives in Levittown and is attending school to become a mental health therapist.
Pole Vault
Coach McGee is in his 19th year coaching at Truman. He graduated in 1986 from Pomperaug High School in Southbury, Connecticut. While in school, he competed for the cross country and track & field teams. He furthered his track career at Wittenburg University, where he competed in the pole vault. He is still an avid pole vaulter himself, and holds aspirations to be an age-group world record holder. Coach McGee continues his training at Truman and Philly Jumps Club. Coach McGee is a science teacher at Harry S Truman High School.
