Review the Brilliant Microschool Policies for detailed rules and regulations.
Some of the highlights:
Data Breach
All teachers will be required to notify the School of any data breach without delay after becoming aware of the data breach.
Cyberbullying
Bullying of a student by another student is strictly prohibited. Cyberbullying, sadly, has become an issue that teachers should be on mindful of in our technology filled environments. This type of bullying includes but is not limited to, the following misuses of technology: harassing, teasing, intimidating, threatening, or terrorizing another student or staff member. Issues, like these, should be reported to administration immediately.
Mandated Reporting
All professionals, administration, teachers, or other staff, who work with children are legally obligated to report behavior by anyone in a student’s life, including the student themself, that is harmful to that student. If you suspect abuse of a child or are concerned in any way about a student’s safety, write down the Zoom timestamp, if applicable, and quickly record the situation you witnessed or heard on an online document or a physical piece of paper. As soon as possible, report the entire incident to administration.
Zoom Protocols
Certain Zoom Protocols have been put into place to help keep all students safe and to keep all student behavior up to a certain standard. Review the full protocols in the Microschool Policies Document. General policies include the following focus areas:
Teachers should enable the waiting room on zoom in order to screen students and unwanted attendees.
Students who are disruptive, abusive, display bullying behavior, or other unfit behavior will be removed from the Zoom room.
When necessary, a student’s video or audio should be disabled if the student is displaying unwanted behavior.
