Invite Intervention and Development to your upcoming staff and family meetings to share resources and information about services and supports of children with special needs.
Special Needs Enrollment
Start 2021/22 school year special needs enrollment by reviewing each new enrollment application for children identified with special needs and forwarding a copy of the new enrollment application to sstarling@bsaece.com for follow-up.
After forwarding a copy of the application, add the child’s name to the School Year 2021/22 Special Needs Data Collection Tool found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qgJqf4F5EttwTHe2UW77nIo10T3FJHuDaWYo0VLgeJ0/edit?usp=sharing.
Once enrolled, contact sstarling@bsaece.com to schedule a Specialized Services meeting to review services, supports, documents and classroom placement required throughout the 2021/22 school year.
Once enrolled, forward copy of the child’s IFSP/IEP/504-BTP to sstarling@bsaece.com for file and follow-up.
Notify sstarling@bsaece.com of any IFSP/IEP/504-BTP meetings during the school for continued support and participation.
Special Needs Data/Monthly Disability Reporting
Begin monthly Disability Reporting by updating the School Year 2021/22 Special Needs Data Collection Tool by the last day of each month. Find the 2021/22 Special Needs Data Collection Tool by clicking here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qgJqf4F5EttwTHe2UW77nIo10T3FJHuDaWYo0VLgeJ0/edit?usp=sharing.

Inclusive Lesson Planning and Special Needs Accommodations
Review each child’s IFSP/IEP/504-BTP for current outcome and type(s) of special needs accommodations.
Add strategies from the IFSP/IEP/504-BTP into the weekly classroom lesson plan for promoting inclusion into everyday activities, transitions and routines.
Continue to track/monitor child’s progress on IFSP/IEP/504-BTP outcomes and daily participation in activities, transitions and routines
ASQ3/ASQSE2
Actively complete 2021/22 Ages and Stages screenings between 09/01/21 and 10/14/21 for all newly enrolled children ages birth through five. Continue to collect Ages and Stages data for children who enroll after 10/14/21, transition from class to class or by parent request throughout the school-year. (Note: Classroom teachers should complete at least (5) screenings per week to manage volume of screenings and time for completion. Each parent/guardian should receive a copy of the ASQ screenings to complete and submit by 10/14/21. Once both parent and teacher screenings are completed, store both teacher and parent copy in each child’s binder.) Final ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2 scores should then be added to the ASQ Grid/Tracker and Ages and Stages Data Collection tool by 10/14/21 found below:
