Daily Schedule and Routines
A typed schedule and a pictorial schedule must be present inside of the classroom
The schedule must represent from opening to closing.
The schedule must include 4.5 hours of free play.
Free play means individual or small group NOT whole group
All interest areas must be open for the 4.5 hours
Sand/Water Play must be open for at least 1 hour
The schedule must have active physical play (gross motor experiences) daily
Children must go outside every day, weather permitting
To score a 5, the children must be outside for 1 hour
If you do not have a playground, provide children with 30 minutes of outdoor experience and 30 minutes of indoor gym
Do not indicate personal care routines on the schedule
Personal care routines such as diapering/toileting are done on an individualized basis
