The 10th annual Southeastern-Massachusetts Quantitative Engagement and Literacy (SEQuEL) Conference is a place where educators in both Higher-ed and K-12 can meet to learn and discuss ways to improve quantitative reasoning in the classroom and beyond. This online only conference will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, 10am-2pm, and is FREE to attend.

SEQuEL is presented and sponsored by the Quantity Across the Curriculum (QuAC) Board at Bridgewater State University.

The theme this year is “For the Love of Data" focusing on ways to incorporate quantitative reasoning in any course. Our keynote speaker is the original creator of the conference and noted QR educator, Dr. Matt Salomone!

The SEQuEL conference is our first event to kick off a Love of Data week at BSU. QuAC will collaborate with several other offices on campus to sponsor programing on data resources around campus that can aid in QR education and faculty support! The goal of this event is to bring together educators and researchers who are interested in improving students' quantitative literacy and reasoning across the curriculum.

Friday Feb. 13th, 4-5pm online National Numeracy Network Virtual Seminar

The NNN is excited to showcase recent scholarship from our flagship journal Numeracy. Our first presentation for the spring is “The Numeracy of Paired Measures: Their Benefits and Hazards, with Examples from Education and Behavioral Sciences,” by Steve Fleisher and Ed Nuhfer (retired, California State University). The seminar—formatted as a presentation, followed by discussion and Q&A—will be Friday, February 13 from 3-4pm Central.
