Nursery 5 Day

Distance Learning

Week of June 1, 2020 - June 5, 2020

Hello Everyone,

This is our last week of school! Congratulations to all of you! You are now ready to go on to pre-k next year! Mrs. Orlando and I are so proud of all of you. You have learned so much this year and have grown both physically and academically. It was certainly a very different year but we loved teaching you each and every day. We will miss all of you and your families. It has truly been a pleasure teaching you this year. Have a safe and healthy summer and we will see you in the fall!

This will be a short week. A video will be sent on Monday, June 1 and on Tuesday, June 2. Wednesday, June 3 is our virtual graduation at 11:00 am. Remember all of your hand movements and sing your best. It will be a fun, festive time for all. We can't wait to see all of you.

Also , you will find our special programs such as, art, music, greenhouse, French, gym and computer listed at the bottom of the page.

I will be sending the Distance Learning video to you via your emails and any other attachments for your child to complete that day. Please email me when your child has watched the video so that I can mark him/her as attending for the day. Please continue to have your child trace his/her name, first and last, for fine motor practice. Thank you for your continued support during this time. Mrs. Orlando and I miss you all very much! Stay well and have a great week!

I love seeing all of your great work and pictures. Please keep sending. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. My email address is

annmarie.gorman@bridgesli.org

We will begin each day reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing My Country 'Tis of Thee. We will focus on the days of the week, month, year, the season, the weather and reviewing numbers, letters and shapes.

Monday, June 1, 2020

I will read "Inky the Octopus", a true story about an octopus who escaped from the aquarium. Who can make an octopus with 8 arms out of play doh? Draw who lives in the Comfy Castle. Help me find the fish twins as we play our fish color game. We will practice cutting as you listen to where the object belongs in the Fishing Fun picture. Let's have fun practicing our graduation songs.

Tuesday June 2, 2020

Aloha! Geetings from Hawaii! We will learn what it is like to be in Hawaii as I read " Froggy Goes to Hawaii". Draw 10 coconuts on to the coconut tree. Let's use our five senses as we observe and cut open a sweet pineapple for a Hawaiian Luau. Is it thumbs up or thumbs down for being safe in the summer? Let's practice our graduation songs one last time for our graduation tomorrow.

Wednesday, June 3, 2020

Happy Graduation day! Our virtual graduation will be at 11:00 am today. Wear your party clothes and have some fun singing our songs together as we move up to pre-k.

Mrs. Orlando and I would like to thank all of you for sharing your special children with us, it truly was a pleasure. Have a safe and healthy summer with your families! Thank you again for all of your unwavering support during this challenging year. It was truly appreciated.

ART! with Ms. Gray 4/3/20 (to make up for missed assignment on 3/27/20)

Hi ECC!

Please view the attached video and worksheets. Today we will be creating masks of our favorite spring insects/bugs. Which one would you like to BEE? :)

You can choose from a bumble bee, a ladybug, a caterpillar, a butterfly (advanced). Students may want to use traditional colors (red for the ladybug, yellow for the bee), or they may want to be inventive and choose other colors--please feel free to decorate these however you want! To create the mask, cut out any shapes that have a dashed line. Pictures are shown of the masks before cutting, and after, as a guide. Please also taper the shapes to fit the children's faces, as necessary.

Please send along photos or videos of the children working on and wearing their bug masks! I can't wait to see what they make!

If you have any questions, I will be checking email Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until 3pm.

Hi Nursery!

Your last assignment was April Showers, so your new assignment is....May Flowers! Naturally:)

Let's turn those raindrops into flower petals. Please trace the dashed lines to complete the drawing of your flowers. When you are finished tracing, you may color the flowers however you like!

If you have any questions, I will be checking email until 3pm today, and MWF next week.
