Playoffs And Wild Card

Playoffs

The playoffs are a way to narrow down the teams, and crown a champion. The playoffs have 8 teams in the first round, 6 from the division winners, and 2 from the Wild Card (See below). The first round is the Al/Nl DS (example, ALDS). There are 4 AL/NLDS games. Each team faces another in a best of 5, meaning first to 3 wins. After the DS games, there are 4 teams left, and they compete in the AL/NL CS games (example, ALCS). There are 2 CS games. Each team faces another, again, but this time, in a best of 7, so first to 4 wins. After the CS games are over, there are only 2 teams left, one from the American League, and one from the National League. These 2 teams compete in the World Series, or Baseball Championship. The World Series, like the CS games, is a best of 7. The first tea to 4 wins, not only wins the World Series, but they win that baseball season, and are given a trophy.

Wild Card

The Wild Card is a way for teams who have not won their division to compete in the Playoffs. Each league has a Wild Card. The teams with the best 2 records in each Wild Card (Only teams that are 2nd or below in their division is in the Wild Card race) have successfully won the Wild Card. But they haven't made it to the playoffs yet. The 2 American League teams and the 2 National League teams face each other in a Wild Card Game. This is a 1 game series, so if you lose, your eliminated. The teams that did win the Al and Nl Wild Card Game have officially made the playoffs and continue as normally (see above).
