7th Grade and 8th Grade
Students who have an Accelerated Education Plan and/or who have not met grade-level performance standards on STAAR will be automatically placed into this class.
In accordance with Texas Education Code requirements, State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) performance data will be used to determine student placement in this academic support elective. Students who have not met grade-level performance standards on STAAR for two or more consecutive years and/or who have an Accelerated Education Plan (AEP) will be assigned to the FOCUS Time elective. This course provides targeted, evidence-based instruction and intervention designed to address identified skill gaps and support accelerated academic growth toward grade-level proficiency.
