We start each morning with a Town Hall meeting, and wanted you all to be able to get a glimpse!

"Families" at Camp

At camp, we have groups that we call "families." The groups are organized by age and have 2 American counselors and 1 Thai counselor in each. Each family came up with a dessert for a team name (ours is "cookies"). My family is around the ages of 11 and 12. At first, it was difficult to talk and interact with the kids- which was most likely a combination of their shyness and discomfort with speaking English. However, today, the kids totally got involved and participated in all the activities and enjoyed their time doing so. Our theme at camp today was "road trip", and each family made a national monument. Our family made Mount Rushmore out of playdough, posterboard, pasta noodles, popsicle sticks, and string. The kids had so much fun problem solving and asking questions about how to build our monument. Afterwards, other groups came and took their picture with our monument and we put a stamp in their passport. During dinner, our family played charades and had a really good time and laughed a lot. Another highlight was when a particularly shy girl wrote a note (see below) to our whole family/ us as counselors saying how she really likes spending time with us and how she is glad to be at Camp My Town. My co- counselors; Liv, Elle, and I are super excited to have all our kids so happy to be at camp, and can't wait for what's to come!
