Our students are using the internet and technology now more than ever before, and although it can be an invaluable resource, it also brings with it risks. Below are some basic tips which may be helpful for monitoring how our students use the internet while at home.
Keep the computer in a high traffic area.
Establish time limits outside of remote learning expectations.
Create a list of approved websites, and depending on child's age, a system for asking before visiting a new site may be needed.
Know who is connecting with your student on social networking sites, and if possible, set rules for what is appropriate to say and how to use the camera safely.
