Filing for the 2022 Primary Election

Filing period opens: Sat., November 13, 2021

Filing period Closes: Mon., December 13, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

The Brazos County Democratic Party (BCDP) Office will be on open Sat. November 13 from 10:00 a.m. to1:00 p.m. to receive the applications of local candidates. A notary will be available in the office to notarize petitions. Future filings will be received by appointment only. Call 979-779-5600 or email brazosdems@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.

The BCDP is dedicated to electing qualified, principled Democrats to serves as elected officials—from the top of the ballot to the bottom of the ballot—in partisan and in non-partisan elections. The BCDP will support those candidates who will ensure that from the highest levels of government down to our county officials, that the citizens of Brazos County will have responsible and effective representation.

Candidate Filing Period

The candidate filing period for public office and for the office of county chair begins on November 13, 2021. The dates are provided below. Our longer, more detailed election law calendar should be posted very soon. We will send out an email when that calendar is available.

1. All Public Offices: November 13, 2021 - December 13, 2021 at 6:00 PM.

2. County Chair: November 13, 2021 - December 13, 2021 at 6:00 PM.

3. Precinct Chair: September 14, 2021 - December 1, 2021 at 11:59 PM (initial filing period). The second filing period will open at a later date in 2022. We will send out an advisory with those dates/deadlines when they are available.
