(Note: The terms volunteer deputy registrar (VDR) and deputy voter registrar (DVR) are used interchangeably.
In-person in Brazos County
Voter registration training is typically scheduled the third Tuesday of the month. To register for one of the Brazos County monthly in-person training sessions, call (979-361-5773) by close of business the Monday before the training, so that enough training materials can be prepared.
Some information about the training is at BrazosVotes.
Note: The training occurs at the Elections Administration office, located at 300 E Wm Joel Bryan Pkwy, Bryan.
Online
Brazos County does not offer online training, but will accept online training given by Travis County.
Travis County online VDR Training
Sign up for the Travis County Volunteer Deputy Registrar online training.
Choose the date/time you want and fill out the form to sign up.You should receive an email with a link/invite to the training. Note: The web page mentions Zoom, but the online training was done via Microsoft Teams, not Zoom.About 15–30 minutes before the scheduled training, open your email and click on the link/invite.
If Microsoft Teams is not installed on your computer, it will download and install. We recommend allowing 30 minutes to resolve any technical issues before the training starts. Latecomers will not be allowed to join after the training has started. The training lasts approximately one hour.
In Microsoft Teams, a slideshow will display on the main screen with smaller windows at the bottom for participants. If the user inadvertently clicks the wrong window, it can be restored by clicking on the slideshow thumbnail (small window) at the bottom of the screen.
Open the chat window to ask a question or view others' questions.

Opportunities for VDRs
Join the Facebook group: Brazos Volunteer Deputy Registrars to learn of events and opportunities at which you can register voters; for example, BCDP has a voter registration table at First Fridays in Downtown Bryan. Voter registration opportunities are sometimes posted on Democratic Activists of the Brazos Valley. With permission from event coordinators, VDRs can set up a table at public events.
