Assessment

You and your group will produce several products as part of this inquiry. Each individual will be assessed separately.

Your Group Portfolio, and the quality and completeness of the group work, will be the foundation of the work in your Individual Portfolio.

A1: explain and justify the need for a solution to a problem for a specified client/target audience

A3: analyse a range of existing products that inspire a solution to the problem

A2: identify and prioritize primary and secondary research needed to develop a solution to the problem

A3: analyse a range of existing products that inspire a solution to the problem

A4: develop a detailed design brief, which summarizes the analysis of relevant research.

B2: develop a range of feasible design ideas, which can be correctly interpreted by others

B3: present the chosen design and justify its selection

B1: develop design specifications, which clearly states the success criteria for the design of a solution

C2: demonstrate excellent technical skills when making the solution

C3: follow the plan to create the solution, which functions as intended

D3: explain how the solution could be improved

D4: explain the impact of the solution on the client/target audience.

The following will be produced during your inquiry.

An Individual Portfolio that documents your inquiry. This portfolio should include the following criteria: A1, A3, B2, B3, C2, C3, D3, and D4. This should be submitted as a Google Doc.
A Prototype: a High-fidelity cardboard model, a CAD model, a 3D printed model, or a laser cut prototype. Any combinations of these is possible. This should be recorded in C3 of your portfolio, and produced.
A Presentation Poster: a poster that presents your design, and describes its functions. This should be one A3-size sheet with information about your design. See here for details about how to create a presentation poster

A Group Portfolio that documents your group’s research and inquiry. This portfolio should be include the following criteria: A2, A3, A4, B1. This should be submitted as a Google Doc.
