Focusing your topic also focuses your research. You are now looking for specific, limited information. Rather than general resources, you go deep and start using more subject-specific resources, such as books on your topic or subject-specific databases and journal.
THINGS TO DO:
Find a minimum of 2-3 KEY sources and read them thoroughly
Make connections between sources -- what is the "story" you are telling?
Look for different perspectives and counter-arguments. Where do these fit in your analysis?
check for bias (yours and your sources!)
Look for holes -- where do you need more information?
