Explore the article "What do historians do?" by pair-share reading. Then completing the questions on the article.
Thinking about quotes about history from famous people-station activity where students work with a partner to decide on the meaning of 12 quotes and then select their favorite one.
Illustrating their favorite quote on poster paper with creative writing, drawings, and color. Completing a rough draft and then a final draft.
October 6 to October 10
Explore "What is history?" through article reviews, the making of foldables of key areas in the article, and answering questions.
Timeline activity in class; watching some video clips, reading a fiction book, and other activities related to the "What is history and why is it important?"
September 29 to October 3
Students will continue to work the Landforms Slide Project.
Students will begin to explore "What is history and Why is history important?"
September 22 to September 26
Students will explore "How do landforms affect human life and culture?"
Students will begin to research all the different kind of landforms using a notetaking sheet.
As the finish the landforms notetaking sheets they will begin a Google Slide about the various landforms and real life examples from a physical map.
September 15 to September 19
Students are continuing to work on their Continent Infographic.
Students will take a quiz on labeling the Continents and Oceans using a map.
September 8 to September 12
Students will take a closer look at the continents and look to answer the question: What makes continents unique?
Students will research and collect unique facts about two assigned contents.
Students will create an Infographic comparing the two continents.
Daily or every other day, we will watch CNN 10 and have discourse about current events.
September 15 to September 19
Students will finish their Continent Infographic.
Students will begin to study land forms and complete a land forms research activity.
Students will take a test on the 7 Continents and 5 Oceans on Friday. They will be given a labeled map and will have to identify each continent and each ocean of the world.
Daily or every other day, we will watch CNN 10 and have discourse about current events.
